How do you clean your Eco Pur Filter?

Cleaning your Eco Pur filter is extremely important as it keeps your hot tub water clean, helps reduce poor performance from your pumps, and keeps your heater working efficiently. Be sure to clean it at least once a month, and after a few days if you end up replacing it (to be sure its clear of contaminants.) Overall, it keeps your hot tub working properly and ready to use whenever you want it!

Here are step-by-step directions on how to clean your Eco Pur filter:

  1. Turn off the power on your Master Spas hot tub. This is to help avoid debris from getting down into your filter fitting
  2. Take your spa filters out (you may have two or three at the moment).
  3. Remove any large items/debris from the filter. Then, spray it down with Filter Cleaner. That will remove a lot of the particles - but not all
  4. Soak your filter in a 5-gallon bucket filled with Filter Cleaner and Water (bottle will tell you correct dosage of each to use) - let it soak overnight.
  5. Simply RINSE the Eco Pur Charge while the filter is soaking (this should not be cleaned with a chemical solution as it will compromise minerals inside of it.)

Your outer filter can be cleaned and reused several times. Remember that the EcoPur filter should never be cleaned with any chemical solution, since that will compromise the minerals that are in it. Instead, just rinse it. The EcoPur filter should be replaced every six months.

Do you have to turn off hot tub to clean filter?

As stated above, it is highly recommended to turn off the hot tub power when cleaning your filter. If the hot tub isn't turned off, you will risk having the debris getting pulled down into the filter fitting. Obviously, that is something we don't want to happen as it will affect the general functioning properties of your hot tub.

How long does Eco Pur Charge filter last?

The Eco Pur Charge filter lasts up to 6 months before you need to get a replacement. This new level filter technology helps prevent algae growth and scale build up for a much longer period than older filters. The outer filter can last up to a year with proper care.
