Every spa has a primary control panel, many times known as a “topside”. This panel is a component that sends information to your hot tubs circuit board/computer. Multiple different functions are controlled by the topside, including but not limited to turning on spa pumps, jets, lights and blowers, and changing the temperature of the hot tub. It is very important to make sure the area in which the topside is located is kept sealed and secure, as water can leak in and ruin the internal circuit board systems.

Typically, if your spa is more than 10 years old, it’s important to check the overlay that lays on top of the spa control panel, as it can erode overtime allowing water to leak in! If your spa overlay is damaged, it can and most likely will affect the spa control panels and circuit board – causing many problems with your spa and triggering spa functionality to go to the wayside.
